An interesting interaction design technique which makes inputting special characters into form fields a breeze. It essentially mimics the long hold interaction on iOS and Android for desktop keyboards.
A challenge: this interaction currently isn’t within our mental model for desktop keyboards. It requires learning. New interactions like this are hard to discover without a crap load of instructions (for a feature most people won’t need or use). Looks like a valuable pattern so hopefully over time, more sites will include it and users will become accustomed.
